CBD for acne – stop fighting your skin
Acne isn't about being dirty. It's about inflammation, hormones, and skin that needs support – not punishment. CBD offers a completely new way to think about breakouts.

What is acne, really?
Acne happens when sebaceous glands overproduce oil, pores get clogged, and bacteria take hold. But the real cause runs deeper – hormones, stress, diet, and the gut microbiome all play a role. Up to 85 percent of people aged 12 to 24 experience it, and adult acne is increasingly common well into your 30s and 40s.
Conventional treatments often involve aggressive products that strip the skin of everything – including its protective barrier lipids. The result? Your skin compensates by producing even more oil, trapping you in a vicious cycle. Antibiotics wipe out good and bad bacteria alike. Isotretinoin dries out your entire body. There has to be a better way.
Acne isn't a cosmetic issue – it's an inflammatory condition. And that's where the endocannabinoid system enters the picture, a system that regulates inflammation, oil production, and cell renewal in the skin.
Lifestyle changes that help with acne
Stop touching your face
Every time you touch your face, you transfer bacteria and irritate already inflamed skin. Build awareness around the habit and leave your skin alone between morning and evening routines.
Balance your blood sugar
Refined carbs cause insulin spikes that drive oil production and inflammation. Eat more protein, healthy fats, and vegetables – your skin reflects your plate.
Change your pillowcase often
Your pillowcase collects bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells night after night. Change it at least twice a week, ideally using natural fabrics like cotton or silk.
Manage stress actively
Cortisol triggers oil production and weakens the skin barrier. Find your thing – walks, breathwork, cold plunges. Stress management is skincare from the inside.
Support your gut health
The gut and skin are directly connected via the gut-skin axis. Fermented foods, fiber, and probiotics can make a real difference for inflamed skin.

How CBD helps with acne
Your skin cells have their own cannabinoid receptors – part of the endocannabinoid system (ECS). CBD interacts with these receptors and helps the skin regulate oil production, rather than drying it out or making it greasier.
Research shows CBD has anti-inflammatory and sebostatic properties, meaning it calms inflammation and balances the amount of sebum your glands produce. That's exactly what acne-prone skin needs – not punishment, but understanding.
Our DUO-kit with The ONE (10% CBD) and I LOVE (10% CBD + 5% CBG) gives your skin a double dose of balance. Combine with Au Naturel Makeup Remover, which deep-cleans with MCT oil without disrupting the skin barrier. Fungtastic Mushroom Extract also supports your immune system from within – for those who want to work with the whole picture.

Frequently asked questions
Can CBD oil make acne worse?
No, CBD oil is non-comedogenic and won't clog your pores. Unlike many conventional products, CBD works with your skin's own system to balance oil production instead of forcing it in either direction.
How quickly will I see results?
The skin's renewal cycle is about 28 days. Most people notice calmer, more even skin within 2–4 weeks. Give your skin time to recalibrate – quick fixes are rarely lasting solutions.
Can I use CBD oil with other acne products?
Yes, but we recommend simplifying your routine. Too many layers of active ingredients stress the skin. Start with CBD oil as your base and see what your skin actually needs beyond that.
Does CBD work for adult acne too?
Absolutely. Adult acne is often driven by stress and hormones rather than puberty. CBD's ability to balance the ECS makes it just as relevant – perhaps even more so – for mature skin.
