CBD for dry skin – stop slathering, start repairing
Dry skin isn't a moisture problem – it's a barrier problem. All the moisturizer in the world won't help if your barrier leaks. CBD helps skin build its own protective wall from within.

Why does skin get dry?
Dry skin occurs when the skin barrier can't retain moisture. The outermost layer – stratum corneum – consists of skin cells linked by lipids, like a brick wall with mortar. When the mortar thins out, water evaporates, skin cracks, and irritants penetrate.
Causes vary: genetics, age, climate, hot water, harsh cleansers, and overuse of exfoliating acids. The Swedish climate with cold, dry winter air and central heating is a perfect storm for dehydrated skin. Hormonal changes and nutritional deficiencies can also play a role.
Many make the mistake of layering on more cream without addressing the root cause – a barrier that doesn't function. It's like bailing water from a leaking boat without fixing the hole. Skin doesn't just need moisture from the outside – it needs support to produce its own protective lipids.
Tips for dry skin
Drink enough water
Dehydration shows directly in your skin. Aim for at least 1.5–2 liters daily. Your body's moisture balance starts from within – no cream compensates for chronic dehydration.
Lower the shower temperature
Hot water dissolves the skin barrier's lipids and leaves skin unprotected. Lukewarm water cleanses just as effectively while preserving natural oils.
Eat the right fats
Omega-3 and omega-6 are building blocks for the skin barrier. Fatty fish, avocado, nuts, and olive oil give your skin the raw materials it needs to repair itself.
Protect against the elements
Cold wind and dry air suck moisture from your skin. Use a protective oil as the last step before going outside and consider a humidifier at home during winter.
Simplify your routine
Fewer products with better ingredients always beats a cabinet full of mediocre products. Focus on cleansing, active treatment, and protective oil – nothing more.

How CBD helps with dry skin
The endocannabinoid system plays a key role in the skin's lipid production and barrier function. CBD stimulates the production of endocannabinoids that in turn support the skin's own production of ceramides – the lipids that make up the mortar in the skin barrier.
CBD also has anti-inflammatory properties that calm the low-grade inflammation that often accompanies chronically dry skin. The result is skin that doesn't just feel softer on the outside, but actually functions better at a cellular level.
The DUO-kit + TA-DA Serum bundle is ideal for dry skin. The ONE with 10% CBD and I LOVE with the CBD/CBG combination deliver nourishment and barrier support morning and evening. TA-DA Serum with concentrated CBG adds an extra layer of repair. Together they build a routine that helps skin hold onto the moisture it produces.
Frequently asked questions
Can oils really help dry skin?
Absolutely. Dry skin primarily lacks lipids, not water. Oils strengthen the barrier and prevent moisture from evaporating. CBD oils go a step further by supporting the skin's own lipid production.
Do I still need a moisturizer?
CBD oil works beautifully as the final step in your routine. It locks in moisture and active ingredients. You can layer a hydrating serum underneath if you like, but many find the oil is enough.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most people feel an immediate difference in how soft their skin is. The real change – a stronger barrier – takes 2–4 weeks. Give your skin time to build up.
