Atopic dermatitis – chronic condition, daily struggle, new strategy
Atopic dermatitis isn't ordinary eczema that comes and goes. It's a chronic inflammatory condition that affects sleep, mood, self-image, and daily choices. You deserve a strategy that understands that – not just another cream.

What sets atopic dermatitis apart from regular eczema?
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most severe and persistent form of eczema. It often debuts in childhood – about 20 percent of all children are affected – and while many outgrow it, up to 10 percent of adults live with the condition. It belongs to the atopic triad alongside asthma and allergic rhinitis, suggesting a deeper immunological disruption.
The core of AD is a defective skin barrier, often linked to mutations in filaggrin – a protein crucial for barrier construction. When the barrier leaks, the skin loses moisture and becomes permeable to allergens, bacteria, and irritants. The immune system responds with a Th2-dominated inflammatory response that drives itch, redness, and eczema rashes.
The itch-scratch cycle is particularly severe in AD. The itch can be so intense it disrupts sleep and leads to secondary infections through scratched-open wounds. Corticosteroid creams are standard treatment but cause side effects with prolonged use – skin atrophy, steroid rosacea, and rebound effect upon discontinuation. Many live in a pendulum between flares and cortisone without reaching lasting stability.
Daily strategies for atopic dermatitis
Moisturize at least twice daily
The barrier leaks constantly in AD. Apply a barrier-strengthening product morning and evening – always on slightly damp skin. Consistency matters more than which product you choose.
Identify and avoid your allergens
Dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and certain foods can trigger flares. Allergy testing provides concrete answers that make daily life manageable.
Wear cotton gloves at night
Nighttime itching leads to unconscious scratching that worsens the condition. Thin cotton gloves protect skin during sleep – especially effective for children.
Wash clothes without fragrance and softener
Chemical residues in clothing press against your skin all day. Unscented detergent and an extra rinse cycle make a noticeable difference.
Build a stable routine that holds even in calm periods
AD requires maintenance between flares too. Stopping moisturizing when skin looks good is the most common mistake – the barrier needs continuous support.

Cannabinoids as support for atopic dermatitis
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) regulates three of the most central processes in atopic dermatitis: barrier function, immune response, and itch signaling. Research shows that people with AD often have altered ECS activity in the skin, and that introducing exogenous cannabinoids can help restore balance.
DUO TA-DA delivers a powerful combination of CBD and CBG. CBD modulates the overactive immune response and dampens pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-4 and IL-13 – the drivers behind Th2 inflammation in AD. CBG supports barrier lipid synthesis and has been shown to calm itch signals via TRPV1 receptors.
TA-DA Serum with concentrated CBG can be applied directly to active flares for intensive relief. The DUO-kit provides daily maintenance. Fungtastic Mushroom Extract adds adaptogenic mushroom extracts that support immune balance from within – because AD is a systemic condition that deserves a systemic strategy.

Frequently asked questions
Can this replace my prescription treatment?
We recommend complementing, not replacing. Many use cannabinoids to reduce the need for corticosteroids between flares, but discontinuing prescription medication should always happen in consultation with your doctor.
Is it safe during severe flares with open wounds?
For open wounds, we recommend waiting until the skin has closed before applying. On intact but inflamed skin, our products are formulated for maximum gentleness.
Does it work for children with atopic dermatitis?
The ingredients are gentle and well-tolerated, but we always recommend consulting your child's doctor before introducing new products. Start with a small test area.
How long should I use the products?
AD is chronic, and the barrier needs continuous support. We recommend daily use as part of your long-term skincare routine – not just during active flares.
